Mental Health services received a boost on the Sunshine Coast through a partnership with new local health and well-being precinct Vitality Village.
Mental health consultancy Character Care were one of the first tenants to move into the $25 million new facility at Birtinya. Character Care CEO Damon Joseph says bringing his team of ten to be part of Vitality Village, a collaborative project championed by community services organisation Be, will help Character Care redouble its efforts to improve the mental health of local residents.
“The Vitality Village vision aligns perfectly with our belief that each of us needs to nurture ourselves and those around us. Together we are stronger. Vitality Village is a beautiful space which supports these values,” Damon said.
“We firmly believe that the collaboration and partnership at the Village will raise the standard of practice, knowledge and referral rate of clients.
“Our focus is on challenging the stigma of mental health and ensuring that people see therapy to be readily accessible, normalised and as a means to be proactively responsible for one’s own health and wellbeing journey.
“Character Care has strong ties to schools, corporate organisations and people from all walks of life. We are excited to show our clients that a place like Vitality Village exists to serve the community through its collaboration, innovation and investment in like-minded allied health professionals.
“We strive to deliberately build resilience, confidence, and self-esteem in a collaborative manner. Our team consists of psychologists, counsellors, and character coaches all who are passionate about building character in others.”
Character Care runs individual consultations, group therapy, school programs and corporate presentations.
